Can you add Bio fields into the user registration form?

If not, is there a way of getting data from the core profile module's fields to the Bio CCK fields?

Yes. Visit /admin/user/bio
Behold the settings, for example: "Show fields on registration form:"

but
it's not working..

field not shown in ?user/register page

you also have to check off which fields you want shown. Those checkboxes will be on that screen once they are created.
