you: I am not an expert, but waiting 13-15 seconds for IX and about 4 for google seems unreal at my end.Speed test results: URL: http://www.site.com Measured Speed (using 10 mbps T3 connection): 7.51 sec Compare with other sites: Samples from our benchmarks, showing average speed (in sec) for the last 12 months: google.com arin.net apple.com microsoft.com fedex.com usps.gov cnn.com weather.com 0.6 0.7 1.1 1.2 2.3 2.9 4.4 5.9
Mike Tockarev: You can check speed

Mike Tockarev: I think it's problem with your coding
you: well i will post this conversation at drupal.org and see what they say, given that it is a stock drupal installation.?? my site at www.othersite.com is also so slow, and is a stock wordpress. So unless wordpress AND drupal have serious problems with default installations, i would say IX is the problem. How can i get a refund?
Mike Tockarev: Please hold on, let me check
you: for every other site i check, the average KB per second is about 0.04 to 0.08seconds.
you: for mine at IX it is as high as 0.66 seconds (HAAA HAA) are you serious it is my coding?
you: i give up and i am posting this conversation where ever i can. you guys are TERRIBLE hosts in every aspect including constructive help.
Mike Tockarev: Your server and site respond fast, but site loaded slow, unfortunately, I don't known the reason

This is very typical of the
This is very typical of the mega shared hosting companies. I had Anhosting, and they did the same thing- they always blame the user instead of taking responsibility for their overloaded, mis-configured servers. I'd recommend switching to a smaller host. I have had Downtownhost for all of 24 hours now (adios anhosting!) and so far I am impressed.
Thats strange
IX user support is slow but they are hosting all my drupal sites quite well
register_globals is enabled.
It seems register_globals is enabled in ixHosting (I'm on a Windows plan). Were they able to resolve this for you?
take a glance at this maybe your it chnges your judge
Hi guys
For completing my friend, frazras's speech I want to link you to an article about :
Drupal CMS in ixwebhosting.com and its compatibility
http://aboutixwebhosting.com/besthost/reviews/drupal-cms-ixwebhostingcom...
Maybe it can help.
ixwebhosting is a not bad
ixwebhosting is a not bad choice, I think the issues being described in above is caused by the connection speed between mysql and web server, if it has been optimized, you will see that the repsonse of ping is fast, but your drupal is loading slowly.

IXWebHosting
I am only installing Drupal right now, but the live support is great. And the connection to IX Web Hosting is better than I have to others US based companies.
ixwebhosting is not an
ixwebhosting is not an optimized Drupal hosting, and their MySQL hasn't been carefully optimized which make Drupal run slow there. Personally, I would like to recommend the hosting company like ANHosting, Hostgator or Bluehost.
I'll second AnHosting/Midphase
I'll second AnHosting/Midphase.
And no, I'm not in their affiliate program, which is actually tempting if you think about it.
I read about them from www.blamcast.com which is the same guy that runs www.drupalmodules.com
I haven't tried the others. I've only personally used 1and1 with Drupal otherwise. I did use another before, but it was for a static site, and I can't remember their name at the moment anyway.. it's been a while.
How do you measure?
How do you measure the speed (not technically)?
Do you think about costs, or do you think only about speed? Because if I must spend more money i became of course (I hope) more speed.
Or do you take in account the money too? Than can you say where you have found such hosting for such money?
And give not such advices as not affiliates, because your mentioned hosting give money to drupal creatives. I knew about that hosting, but I have not found not affiliated (sponsored) description about your mentioned hostings.
P.S.: I am not drupal professional and I have money limitations. If you give a price level than you can compare hostings. NOT in that way as you do - which speed is higher.
P.S.: The added conversation in initial message is not succesfull. How was the solution?
To whom?
AndrejT,
Since there have been several posts here, please specify to whom are your questions. If to the original poster, then it'd be good to specify. The context makes me think you may be questioning what I said, but the location of the comment is that which it would apply mostly to the original poster.
Thanks for any clarifications.
