I browsed the module directory and couldn't find a related stories module. Is there a module out there that does related stories?

I considered making something to do this when I was glancing at New Scientist magazine's website. Take a look at one of their articles to see how they show "Related Articles".

I was trying to figure out how I would display this list - as a sidebar block or inline like the link above?

...And have relatively fine-grained taxonomies, or are using free tagging to classify stories, the related nodes module should help. It maintains a sidebar block of nodes that share taxonomy terms with the current node.

related nodes module only exists in Drupal 5.

What about an alternative to Drupal 6?
