I am running multi-site on Media Temple. I can adjust my max_file_upload settings in php.ini to whatever I like, but it isn't properly reflected in Drupal. e.g. I have php.ini set to 5M which reflects in the php report, but in Drupal it says max file upload is set to 2.5M. What the??

admin >> site config >> file uploads?

Ya, in there is only lets me sets 2.5M because is says php is set to 2.5, which is balone

I remember something about 50% of the PHP limit, but not the exact details. If you set it to 10M in PHP, I think you will see 5M in Drupal. Search for the 50% thing, or just try bumping up the PHP limit.

Quint, that was a great clue... You have to increase the limit in two places in php.ini

max_file_upload
max_post_size

The total upload size displayed in Drupal will be 50% of the limit set in max_post_size
