Modification request - event Manager to URL Alais hookup

I am asking for a little assistance in a problem I am having. I would like to use these two modules in tandem, so that event manager operates as normal, but that on finishing, takes the user to a page asking for a url alias, such as mikesbeachparty. I am trying to save the user having to fill in the form, then go out, go back nito URL Alias and fill in the node details.

Is this possible? Also, does URL Alias check to see if the alias has already been used?
