hello
I was wondering how I can create a menu item with children, without that menu item itself has a path. So if I would click on it, it would only expand the menu (or by a hover).
For example:

Downloads
- Windows
- Linux
- Mac OS

and I dont want to provide a path for menu item downloads.

I have looked a lot of help pages, but I didnt manage to find an answer to my question there.
Thanks!

Look at DHTML Menu: http://drupal.org/project/dhtml_menu

DHTML Menu makes all parents behave like what you're saying, but you could probably hack it to just change one item

thanks for your comment
now I have the strange problem that my menu item that has children, is completely aligned to the right in the box, while its

  • symbol is on the place where it should be, on the left.
I have examined the css files, but found nothing that commands it.
    Do you have an idea?

You may try the combination of:
    - DHTML Menu

And here is another module that provides
a placeholder and seperator for menus
