OpenLayers Module Maintainership seems to have dropped off. I would like to take over this module, can somebody help me out?

I have posted an issue to the Open Layers queue, it has been sitting unanswered for 2 months.

I also attempted to contact the module maintainer directly and he has not responded yet.
