Drupal system date incorrect time zones

mch_nz - March 20, 2008 - 08:01

Hi,
I'm trying to determine if Drupal will meet my needs. A core requirement is a simple calendar module. As my hosting site only offers Drupal 6 via Fantastico I can't use the Calendar module so looking at Events. But every time I try to set to my time zone (NZ) the Drupal system date shows as "12 June 2008" - it should be "20 March 2008". Looking at the "ETC/GMT" zones it seems to work ok up to GMT+9 but is wrong at GMT+10, +11, +12...

Have I done something wrong? Is this a bug? If so how do I know where it is and what diagnostic info I need to report. Oh and how do I get the diagnostic info? As a Drupal newbie I'm finding this all somewhat confusing....

Thanks,
Mark.

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem. the time is 7 or 8 hours off no matter what time zone I set it to :(

Same problem

We're having the same problem on a Drupal 6 site where our site keeps showing ahead of time - for example 7:28 a.m. when it's actually 12:28 a.m.

Why don't you do a manual

Why don't you do a manual install? Fantastico rarely installs anything properly. You can simply upload the Drupal version of your choice and run install.php to install it. Takes about a minute to install.

If the time is always off though, make sure that your server time is correct.

Fantastico...

It isn't a Fantastico problem, since I never install that way. And I have more than a dozen Drupal sites all installed on the same server that don't have this problem. It's just this one site, and it is the only one that is running a 6.x version.
