Will not delete old alias

Could you be more specific about the problem. What kind of alias (node/term/etc.)? If a node, what node type and what pattern are you using? What Update action is set on the pathauto settings page? If it happens when editing a node, what do you have under URL path setting on the node form?

Are you referring specifically to bulk updates? That has changed now, but is documented... http://groups.drupal.org/node/6706#bulk_generation_new
