More than one varying exposed filters on one page? How?

webstylemedia - March 23, 2008 - 00:40

Hello!

My client asked me to create a views page with 6 exposed filters.

Each filter is text search field assigned to some taxonomy category and search button.

It looks like:

Find [_________] in taxonomy term 1 [SEARCH] Find [_________] in taxonomy term 2 [SEARCH]
Find [_________] in taxonomy term 3 [SEARCH] Find [_________] in taxonomy term 4 [SEARCH]
Find [_________] in taxonomy term 5 [SEARCH] Find [_________] in taxonomy term 6 [SEARCH]

So really it's like an advanced search page. Not simple filter.

If customer type text in one filter and press Search - results in related taxonomy term will be listed.

I am just not sure how to do it better with views.

My idea is to create:
1) simple view that do a search per 2 fields - text search index and taxonomy term and use these values from arguments
2) create a separate page (maybe a simple module that will provide a clean page) where to place a 6 forms with actions linked to view from step 1.

Am I correct? Maybe there some easier way? Maybe it's possible to create 6 separate filters on one page using only views?

Please help. Very need this to get done.

Thanks.

Dmitry
