The image comments component of this module is a powerful yet simple tool that allows a site administrator to enable attachments within comments; this module depends on the Comments Drupal core module/feature. Attaching to comments is not possible with the Drupal core or default system, and it can not be 'enabled' within the drupal core (attachments for comments).

As part of Img Package, the Img Comments module makes this all possible - without turning comments into nodes to accomplish the same task (there are other great modules like 'node comment' that take this approach).

To use this feature, you must first enable the Img Package and Img Comments modules within Admin/Modules. You must also have already enabled users to Upload (in user permissions) and enabled the uploads module (in core modules)

Important:: To make this feature accessible to your site users, you must first enable the specific permission for any or all users.

1) Go to Admin/User Management/Permissions
2) Scroll down to "Image comments: allow users to upload image comment files" and enable for desired user type.

To restrict or enable the ability to include attachments within comments:

1) Be certain that the module is both enabled and accessible to desired user types (see steps immediately above)

note: within content type settings, the ability to enable or disable comment attachments is distinct and separate from the ability to attach to the 'content type' itself. Img Package deals with nodes and Img Comments deals with replies to those nodes.

That's it!

Ideas for usage:

You may use a simple utility like this to simulate, for example, the "video replies" feature of a youtube style site or "image replies" in a photo sharing site. Alternatively, one may use this in conjunction with the standard img_package and core upload modules to enabled collaborative file review/edit/versioning (e.g. I post a story and attach a file - you download file, edit and then reply with edited attachment and so on).
