I just want a simple way to tag stuff I write on my Drupal installation. Then, the tags could be listed within a block. Visitors can see the list of tags, click on one, and then be presented with a list of pages that are tagged with that tag.

As I search for this ability in Drupal (looking through the Modules,) I can't figure out which one does this. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I can't tell if you are being serious about that or not. Taxonomy and tagging are two different things, right? You say that your posts & comments are usually dripping with sarcasm. If that's so, what do you mean?

taxonomy == tagging

taxonomy def; the science or technique of classification.

you want to do this using tags, which is exactly what taxonomy does.

create a vocabulary, assoicate it with a content type
add terms to this vocabulary
create a piece of content with that content type
notice the new drop down that will allow you to "tag" that content with that term

Do you mean that? Or, are you being sarcastic?

I'm being dead serious, and if you would take the time to read the documentation and test it, you'd understand.

sarcasm != lieing

This is nice.

Just want to add to that to check the freetagging box. That will give you more what you're probably used to when you think of tagging something. Instead of defining terms ahead of time you just type them in when you create content.

Thanks. :-) I see that the tags now show in the bottom right corner of a blog post that's been tagged. What is a easy way to present a list of tags?

Tag clouds are popular: http://drupal.org/project/tagadelic otherwise there's php snippits in the handbook.

I understand this free tagging. However, i have a question about it. Is there a way to let you enter multiple tags? When i try that, and look at my list of terms, i get "red wheel new" and not "red", "wheel", "new" (basically 1 term and not 3 terms). How can i enter multiple tags for a piece of content?

VVN’s picture

"red, wheel, new"
you have to use commas, tags with spaces are good.

Thank you sir! That did it!
