Is there a way to make the front page show more content? I would like to display more info vs. forcing a visitor to use MORE INFO.

I assume you mean "read more" link.

Goto administer -> post settings, change the default teaser length.
This setting on works for new content. If you want old content to work with new setting, you must edit the pre existing content and resave, or look into a module like retease.module.

Also note that you can manually set <!--break--> tags where you want content to break.
