See apple support forums for an example. You can mark a question as anwered, or still not answered (after a while).

Views Bookmarks can do this. I'm leaving this issue open since my response doesn't have anything to do with the Answers module.

Marking as closed for D5 version ... no action on it for a *long* time.
For the D6 version, see #235824: to select best answer ... this feature is under development (in the sense that authors can select a 'best answer' and when they do questions may be locked from further answers).
