Winner - Overall 2007 Open Source CMS Award
Last year our beloved CMS was the overall winner of the Webware 100 Awards. By winning the competition, the Drupal Association got 5,000 Dollars that was used for amongst others funding Drupal Conferences and to buy hardware for hosting the Drupal infrastructure. But even better than the money, Drupal got more airtime and more and more people recognized the power of Drupal.

This year, Drupal was once again nominated in the category "Publishing" and you are encouraged to vote on Drupal to make sure we win again this year. Please help by spreading the word and vote, you deserve it!

I have been working with Drupal since 2005 but only been a member for a year or so. And it has been the best CMS since I moved over when Mambo and Joomla divorced and I wondered why it took so long to get here. Now I am working on deepening my roots in Drupal and be more of a proactive member and advocate. I just came back from London, back to Kenya and I have two Drupal based ventures hopefully getting financed. Its been a rough ride and I am proud to use Drupal, and I hopefully can contribute to this more.

That's why I voted. Best CMS

Seems not that long ago we were just voting on the 2007 version of this.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like Joomla didn't get nominated this year?

All the links above regarding the 2006 and 2007 awards are pointing to another award, from Packt Publishing. This vote is for the Webware award, which had it's first edition last year. The winner's list for 2007 is here. Note that indeed Drupal was one of the winners not for the CMS award, but one of the 10 best 'Publishing' tools.

The correct article should read:

In 2007 Drupal was awarded a Webware 100 Award in the 'Publishing category'. They gave us a nice Webware 100 Winner graphic for our site, and maybe a plaque.
This year, Drupal was once again nominated in the category "Publishing" and you are encouraged to vote on Drupal to make sure we win again this year. Please help by spreading the word and vote, you deserve it!

Just voted for Drupal and posted the I Voted Logo on our site (www.DrupalNigeria.Com) and a link for others to also Vote for Drupal. In the spirit of the Open Source and love for Drupal, we have started holding FREE Web Design/Development Training Programmes (Based on the Award-Winning Drupal Open Source CMS) in some Towns and Cities in Nigeria. This will continue as we push the frontiers of Drupal in Nigeria.

We are still very much in the start-up stage of this initiative, but could do with some words of encouragement and advice as we push this project forward. Visit our site (www.DrupalNigeria.Com) and post a word.

Cheers and lots of Kudos to Drupal. Drupal just has to win again this Year.

Drupal is really an all around winner in the CMS category. The community is bustling with new ideas and modules, and it is just one big team. i think we are all proud of drupal, where it has came from, and where it is going because it really is one of the most powerful tools you could use to develop websites.

way to go everybody keep up the good work!

I would vote for Drupal 5 as I don't think 6 is ready for prime time due to the lack of important modules and good themes ported over. That should happen eventually but it's not there yet.
