Swith to mmhosting or drupalvaluehosting

I am new t drupal. But after a test site on dreamhost ( they really sucks, there process killer kills upload of texts with 600 words! ) I search for good host. After a long research of opnions, money and "what you get" I am now on the decision between mmhosting and dvh.
And I am not quit sure how the "ssh" access is onboth hosts. For example could I use my own compiled php version with for example ioncube?
Anyone an idea where to switch? ;)

you should be aware that drupalvaluehosting was banned for spamming. almost anything will perform better than dreamhost, but i'd try to find a company that doesn't abuse the community. i won't make any specific recommendations here, but if you search similar threads, you'll find lots of good alternatives.

Well most of the hosting companies had problems oO The main problem of dvh is easy: they are new ... But mmhosting has many good user ratings. But the really strange thing about mmhosting: There are only very few user opinions. I think it is a very strange thing nowadays ;-)

I am also thinking about mmhosting. It's funny since every time I log onto drupal.org, I see a mmhosting google ad on the right sidebar. If everyone can see that, I'm sure at least a dozen drupalers have tried or are using mmhosting. Please advise a fellow drupaler like myself before I make the wrong decision.

Regarding your concern about us not having lots of reviews, the general rule of thumb is most people only write reviews if they are dissatisfied with their service, we might have few good reviews, but so long we have no bad reviews you shouldn't be to worried.
Also, most people who recommend a hosting provider on this forum I have noticed are only doing it as they are signed up affiliates of the company, thus they make money for referring you to them.

new to mmhosting and i'm very happy
I'm new to Drupal, just 4 weeks. After the learning curve and putting together a site I was looking at hosting options including dedicated servers.
I found mmhosting to be very responsive to questions on the phone several times when I called to enquire about their services. There was no pressure, just helpful answers to all my questions. Yesterday we opened an account and within three hours, with the help from mmhosting and with zero experience at my end of setting up on a server the site was setup, transferred from my desktop machine, and running.
The staff were helpful, responsive, and very nice to deal with. The price is hard to believe. I still can't understand how they can make money at these rates and with the time and care provided I can only hope they get joy from having satisfied customers.
I have no affiliation with mmhosting except that I am a new customer and so far I am thrilled.

How's the performance on mmhosting? Also, are you going to submit a story on the showcase thread topic to show off your website? I am curious on which modules you used so I can compare that with the performance level.

Sorry, I can't answer these questions just now. We are trying to launch a Drupal 6.1 production site and there are a few issues that I will post separately in the hope of some helpful answers. After that is done we will be able to assess performance and I'll let you know.
