Full Blog Posts on Front Page.

I have set up my front page to be the main page for my blog but I am still seeing the excerpts. How do I turn them off? Is there a module that will help or is it a setting in drupal?

Thanks
Chad

Well, there are two ways of achieving what you want.

1. The Simple Way: From the posts that are currently on your frontpage, I understand that your blog entries will be of the story type and consisting of text most of the time. A simple insertion of the <!--break--> comment at the very end of your post should do the trick. This may not work with some custom content types, but for the stories, this is the easiest thing you can do.

2. The Advanced Way: Install the Views module and override the frontpage view, changing the 'View Type' from 'Teaser List' to 'Full Nodes'. This should work for all content types.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Inserting the break comment at the end seemed to work perfectly. Thanks again!

We are in fact using the Blog type rather then story. Would it be better in this situation to use the story type? We are quite new to Drupal and chose Blog for no other reason then this is a blog. In anycase the blog is actually the first implementation of the site as a whole, eventually the front page will contain a lot more information.

Thanks much!
Chad

Nope, using blog for a blog site makes perfect sense. ;) I've only mentioned 'stories' because it's the one I personally use for my blog entries. Good luck with the site and hey, you've got a great cat!

Is there a way to have full posts on homepage without the 'read more' link but with the comments link/counter intact? I tried to set Full Node in my custom view, but the comments links either disappear or appear without the counter, whether I set "add comments in different page" in the content type or not.
Many thanx
