I couple weeks ago I installed the FCK editor module. Now Drupal informs me there's a new version. Can I just upgrade by doing straightforward file manipulation in the unix shell (e.g. the same way I installed in the first place), or do I need to "uninstall" the old module somehow first?

remove the old folder upload the new folder run update.php
