Staff listing

I was curious, is there any easy way to have a staff listing so the information is taken from specific user's profiles? This becomes an issue when the positions are filled by different people each year (as in a government), and you want to be able to keep accurate information about them on the site in other places - my idea is to have a user account for the position and allow them to have access to the account, which in turn enables them to update the profile information. The ultimate goal is to just have the proper information shown in the end, and have as few places to update it as possible.

Could this be done with some php? If so, how would someone refer to a specific user, and then to their profile fields?

Thanks, sounds like its exactly what I need. I've already made a contact form for each of the email addresses for the positions (we figure its easier to take over a position if you can refer back to what had been done in the past, so I personally am in favor of keeping the specific emails with the positions, in which case the accounts would need to be handed on as well)

So possibly I can set it up to use that for the contact links.
