I am selecting "Select with abbreviations" in "Display states/prvonices as" on ?q=admin/content/types/myprofile/fields/field_address.

Even after selecting Select with abbreviations it shows full name of states.

I think I should move this to feature report. As it certainly displays abbreviation when we are viewing it. But if we can have abbreviations when we are entering states it can be of great help and flexibility.

I am putting this as feature request.

Right. Abbreviations are presently for display only, not input. I'll consider this next time I get around to this module. (I rotate through over a dozen modules, so it will be a while)
