when i change the theme or active a module , the drupal redirect me to white and blank page.
can you help me how to fix this problem please

It is happening to me as well since I upgraded from Drupal 5. Difference is, when I try to refresh the page several times, it comes back.

this is very odd.

I only get a blank white page when I try to get into the admin section.

I am running a 6.4 install on a WAMP stack that is set up as all default. I can still get into my 5.* installation admins. It was working fine yesterday, but when I started to work on creating a theme (Specifically, changing the page.tpl.php file) the site returned a white page when I went to go back into the admin section.

All the other links work fine. I can create a new page, edit it, go into My Account... it is just the admin links which is, um, kinda essential.

I have played around with the .htaccess file, but really, I shouldn't need to adjust that configuration, esp when the set up has worked like a dream for years

Also, the white page that is returned does not come fast like the others above, takes a couple of seconds. even changing the mem limit in the php .htaccess din't help. i think that it is a Drupal thing.

any help would be appreciated, as I am giving a session in the next NYC Drupal meeting and, well, this could cause a small problem :)

I have tried everything I can think of.

I went into phpmyadmin and under variables changed the administration theme to garland.
(by the way it helps to have another install of drupal somewhere open 2 phpmyadmin windows, and cut and paste it. I set the other drupal install to .... Administration Theme = garland so I know the data I copied was correct)

I went to the system section, changed modules status to 0 from 1, (which if you don' t have access to the admin pages, you can do this.
Or simply remove the offending folder from the modules folder.)

I tried turning off blocks, again using phpmyadmin.

The problem happened after I upgraded tribute and page ear. But I think those two are unrelated, because removing them from the modules folder did nothing. I belive the problem is somewhere in the mysql database, but I don't know where.

Also looking at watchdog, It shows it can't find a file in the theme I'm using.
themes/ability/js/jquery.pngfix.js The file is there, I also re-copied everything to the theme folder.

Are you using this module? drupal admin menu, or supernav, or pngfix (or all three together.)
Based on what was in the watchdog, These might be the problem,

To test, I installed it on another site I use, and same exact problem.
I think it's duplicating an something, or pointing it to the wrong place.
I posted an issue on the authors issue queue.

I pulled admin menu out and the admin section started to work.
But here is the twist, I have 2 sites, the original one, I am still getting the white page.
But on the second site I can replicate the problem every time.

John, I'm in nyc. Where are the meetings being held?

P.s. just noticed in watchdog, page not found error has wrong theme location.

I installed a fresh install, and installed this theme,
Marinelli. Without even selecting the theme as default but turning it on, THe admin section is toast.
Any body else confirm this.
I think it happened when I upgraded to 6.4.

Ahhhh, with drupal modules, upload status on, and then using the Marinelli theme,
Admin section dead. Turn off either one, Marinelli theme, or update status, and ok.

I only get the white screen when I enable/disable modules. It just doesn't redirect, but the changes are definitely saved. I too am using the Admin Menu module, but I installed that a while ago and the issue only started recently.

If I refresh the page, it shows up no problem.
