I really like the module. Makes things easier. Problem though is, that I creat one new block. I can then place this block in any region I want. At the same time though the sub-block is being displayed automatically in the left sidebar :( ... I don't want it there though. I added a lil screenshot to make my point clear ;)

I don't really understand what's the problem, unless your were not configuring properly the blocks. You don't have to create a new block, just the menu hierarchy. Then, assign that menu to a new mbs block in the menu_block_split settings page. This module will create for you two new blocks: one with the first level menu and another one with all its children items.

One of the blocks was just automatically appearing in the left side bar. Maybe this was a missconfiguration of my part. Navigation has changed in the last couple weeks, so we're not using the module anymore, therefor closing the issue.
