Okay my page is netownage.com. If you go there you will see how messed up it looks. All I want to do is replace that crap at the top of the page with a banner... all my menu and stuff needs to be on the sides. However, if I set the banner as a header, then I have a few inches of red void space under it and it looks even worse. Right now I set the banner as the logo image and LOL... anyway, I been searching for answers and getting exhausted here. Any suggestions or pointers in which way I should go?

Theme
Are there any themes out there that have a place for a banner instead of this stupid logo garbage. Why would I want a logo?
you are idiots
drupal sucks and i'm going back to wordpress.
5 minutes
its like 5 minutes later and drupal still sucks. how about that shit
I could careless if you go
I could careless if you go to wordpress. If you want help, to ask nicely. Drupal is harder to learn then Wordpress because it has more features and because it is better. Anyways it looks like you found how to upload a new logo in drupal theme options. Now all you need to do is create a better image.
i asked nicely
i asked very early in the day, and bumped it once and got no response. It's funny the only response I got was from someone who can't give me an answer. Clearly, drupal cannot do what I want it to, or you guys just don't know how to use it right.
ok
just understand. I have a pretty good understanding of programming and such, but I have wasted a whole day searching for answers and didn't find any. This is the ONLY time I resort to forums. I really am losing faith in Drupal and how all the themes look like the same thing, and I figure that no one has given me an answer simply because everyone uses these same themes with "logos." A logo is something I would have put on my geocities page 10 years ago and I want to put a banner up. I am not trying to start a fight even though I seem like it -- does anyone know where I can get a theme that doesn't have this logo crap built-in?
Step beyoond the beginner mind
Then you will have a problem with wordpress and you'll get Joomla and so on, after all that, you gone use every CMS in the world.you'd better take the time to know what you really want and what you are willing to do for. then, you'll look for modules. Even in Wordpress you'll have to look for Plug-in (equivalent for Modules). Wordpress and Drupal are not different as you think (Drupal is the best but...) Jerry, a friend is using wordpress and me Drupal. We took time to compare them, and the reult was: What you really need to and Which one did you meet first.
One more thing: Why don't you design your one Theme? it's not as difficult as you may pretend.
Your banner
I like your site and you are on the right track. I would like to know what module you're using to get all the photos on there. That's what I'm trying to figure out right now! Don't give up on Drupal because it really is awesome. You just have to be patient and then the light bulb will come on.
OK, here's what I did, because I too am using a banner. First off, you don't want to replace the logo, you want to replace the default banner. I went into my theme file (I use B7, btw) and opened the default banner in photoshop. Took a look at the size, and then made my own banner in that same size and named it what the B7 default banner was called. Give it the exact name. (I also saved the original banner as BannerOriginal, so I'd have it to fall back on in case I messed up.) Then I uploaded it to where the default banner is on my server (in the themes folder under images) and it automatically changed.
That's how I did it. Now make sure you go into your theme configuration and unclick logo, because then it will still try to put a logo over your banner. I also don't use a slogan, so I unclicked that. (I put the slogan as part of my built banner.)
I hope this helps!
try a theme like
try a theme like http://demo.roopletheme.com/tapestry/ then put your banner in a block at the top.
Tapestry gives a lot more options of where you can put your block.
Thanks so much!
So sorry for being a rude earlier, frustration and alcohol don't have sociable results :)
@guitarma - For the photos on the movies sections and such, it is just the blocks module and I have been manually adding the pics by coding HTML tables with small pics. I SHOULD be using a module to do this for me, as it's a pain in the arse to manually add them each time. So I'm in the same boat! I'll tell you if I find a good module for that.
@timmillwood - Thanks bro! In my other theme there was really no way to edit the banner as far as I could see. This theme is mindblowingly awesome. It did glitch at first but I figured out it was a bad block causing it (the block had shown problems before). I just deleted the block and it worked!
I got the banner where it needs to be for now at least and I am happy as a dog in a sea of butts. Again, thanks for coming around for me Drupal community!
I have played around with
I have played around with the ad module a little bit and it might help you with this project. http://drupal.org/project/ad
Let me tell you BTW that this community is amazing...I will be posting in a minute with an admin question and I will get a great response soon after..I don't know about Wordpress but try that on Mambo/Joomla where I cam from let alone IBM or Microsoft.
Peace,
Steve
