Not so sure about Druppal

[this post, lacking any detail, will only induce flamewars. I am closing it before it does. chx ]
I've read many posts on the web, claiming that Drupal is the best CMS for newspapers. I run several Joomla sites (a dozen or so), and have written several extensions for Joomla, so needing a newspaper site for a client, I eagerly looked into Drupal.
Well, I'm twenty-four hours into it and so far my impression is: "I miss Joomla!"
Please tell me again why Drupal is better...

well....
24 hours isn't a lot of time to explore what Drupal has to offer.
Is there anything in particular you're having issues with? Taxonomy? Views? Most anything you need for a newspaper site can be done with those two things, as well as the CCK (content construction kit.)
If you have specific issues please let us know.

Why?
That's not sarcasm. Seriously, why? If you are happy with Joomla, why do we need to try to "sell" Drupal to you. You need to use what's best for you, not what other people tell you to use. If there is some specific failing in Joomla that's causing you to look elsewhere, then ask how Drupal handles that. But, if you are happy with Joomla, use Joomla. I suspect you will always be unhappy with Drupal if you come here looking for us to justify why you should move away from something that is working for you.

So many words to say nothing...
You've said nothing about the modules you're using, or the approach you're taking, how you've themed Drupal (or what themes you're using).
This antagonistic post smacks of troll: it's only going to attract angry responses.
To be expected
After getting to the level you were at with Joomla, 24 hrs might be a bit early to feel otherwise.
Instead of just telling you why Drupal is better (or not as the case may be), I'd first ask if there is anything you hope to get out of Drupal that you couldn't get out of Joomla? The definition of "better" depends on what you want from it.
Although I haven't really used Joomla, I could repeat some differences based on (possibly out of date) reputations:
Joomla is regarded as being a better "out of the box" CMS experience, but more limiting or less flexible than Drupal for those wanting to do a lot of customisation.
Joomla follows the front end / back end site management paradigm. With Drupal there is no clear dividing line between visitors and administrators. Although there is much overlap Joomla is slightly more oriented towards publishing while Drupal is more oriented towards community interactions and community generated content.
Drupal (apparently) does a better job separating the theming layers from the functionality layers. Drupal apparently has a more powerful/flexible API under the hood.
Drupal add on modules tend to be smaller more focussed tools that combine well with others, whereas Joomla extensions tend to be larger monolithic applications. A Drupal site will be built from many smaller modules, while a Joomla site might just have a few big ones.
Ultimately Drupal is more of a framework of CMS components. Joomla is more of a customisable CMS application. Drupal is more flexible but takes longer to grasp.
I will say though that I've seen many people struggle to understand why Drupal does stuff the way it does, then one day have an epiphany and suddenly "get it". Once this happens, not many people go back to other systems.
