usernode -> automatically assigning group of user?

Usernode is great, it enables me to create a custom view showing profile fields of subscribers by organic group. The problem for me is that an administrator picks a group for a user on sign-up. Then the usernode is automatically created, but it doesnt know that it belongs to that group. This means that my subscriber list is not complete with the last user until someone goes to edit the usernode and sets the group. Is there any way around this or am I missing something?
