controlling content on first page - teasers

mrmyth - March 27, 2008 - 17:43

When I post a story it puts the title on the front page, but not the story. How can I get it to post the story, or at least part of it?

Blog posts are doing this, but story posts are not.

Visit Administer › Content

Visit Administer › Content management › Content types. For the story content type click 'edit' under operations. Under "Workflow", "Default options" check "Promoted to front page" and click "Save Content Type".

For any existing stories visit Administer › Content management > Content. Under "Show only items where" select "type" and set to "Story" the click the filte button. Then check the checkbox next to "Title" (in the table showing the content), this will select the displayed content. Then under "Update options" in the dropdown select "Promote to front page" and click the "Update button".

only posts the title

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. It's promoting just the title of the story to the front page and none of the text from the story.

Do you have any module

Do you have any module installed to control access to content or to control the teaser length?

Not that I know of

No, just tryiing to elimate possibities. So if I understand correctly the front page lists page, story and blog entries but while page and blog show part/all of the content page content only shows the title?
