I have two websites both built with drupal from 5.x and updated to 5.7.
one site wcces.org the Cron maintenance tasks never worked, I did run cron manually, but either noting happen or got server error 500. another site cumt.ca, the function is ok.

the result is wcces.org search function doesn't work.

I couldn't figure out how to fix this problem, and where is the point to start.

help

are both sites on the same server? do you have an addhandler in .htaccess? have you asked your host about this? php4 or php5?

both sites are hosted on 1and1.com at same package, I checked .htaccess , they are same.

I check MySQL database 4.0.27, PHP 4.4.8 , both same.

by the way, I just check the website wcces.org, it displays "Cron maintenance tasks Last run 51 min 51 sec ago "
but the search function doesn't work, it displays "Your search yielded no results"

and this one:

Cron has been running for more than an hour and is most likely stuck.

delete your search index and lower the numbers of items indexed per cron run, in yoursite.tld/admin/settings/search
