Open ID integration problem

I have got Drupal-6.1 installed on my local server. To test Open ID integration i have also got an open ID server installed (Clamshell) on the same local sever.
While trying to add OPEN ID to my local installation of drupal, which i have generated from OPEN ID server(Clamshell) it is not able to identify my OPEN ID and states that it could be misspeled.
My doubt is do we need to make any additonal changes in the configuration of Drupal other than just enabling the OPEN ID module.

OPEN ID integration
I went through a series of posts including the proxt authentication and header over writing part.
I also saw a patch was submitted for common.inc
Is this really into shape or are we still looking for solution so that i could get a better direction.
Any coments please !!!!!
