Looking for a soultion. Taxonomy dropdown with ability to add more

Hello folks,

I apologize if this is not the right forum, I did not find a forum I thought was appropriate to ask this question.

I have scoured the modules, and searched the net and I am amazed that I did not find a solution.
I have a client who wants to be able to select multiple taxonomy terms from a drop down and still add a new one. I have tried a variety of modules but nothing seems to do this, can anyone recommend a module that might accomplish this?

Thanks for any and all advice

Not 100% sure what your goal is here...

  • In the admin tool, its simple to add new terms?
  • You can only "add" new terms while editing a node (outside the admin tool) with a "free tagging" taxonomy - there is no select widget.
  • If your (non-free-tagging) taxonomy allows "multiple values", then you can use the CTRL key to pick several terms.
  • If you create a View with an "exposed filter" on Taxonomy: Term, and the taxonomy allows multi-select, then the end-user can select which terms they want to filter the results with...

As you can see, I'm not totally clear where it is or why you need to "select multiple taxonomy terms from a drop down and still add a new one"
