What's the word on a version for 6.x?

ckk and views people really need to stop playing with drupal 5 and support drupal 6 :-)

Yeah I really need this for Drupal 6.x... Has anyone tried upgrading the module to work with 6.x?

This functionality is actually built into Views 2 for Drupal 6. Take a look at the example view included that uses the 1 letter "glossary" style links.

I don't see it, here are what is included with my views for drupal 6 :

Default Node view: archive
Default Node view: backlinks
Default Comment view: comments_recent
Default Node view: frontpage
Default Node view: taxonomy_term
Default Node view: tracker

where is this example view which uses a glossary?

The example is called "Glossary". You may have to update your Views module, as I think it was added around June 10th(?).
