To All:

I enlisted the services of a very proficient Drupal programmer to convert Image Notes (http://drupal.org/project/imagenotes) to Drupal 5.7. I need someone that is willing to maintain (or upload at the very least) this module so it can be shared with everyone. I tried doing it myself but was unable to get an account.

In this version, I had a couple things changed:

- Only the user who uploaded the image can add/delete the annotations

- When the image is viewed in PREVIEW mode versus ORIGINAL mode, the 'box' appears around the same region in the images!!

- Some of the other code in the module/fnclient was modified to work better

Please let me know if you have experience contributing modules to Drupal and want to volunteer!

Thank you.

Mark

It's great you want to contribute back! But no one with CVS access is going to simply overwrite someone else's module (if they even can). Besides, the module maintainer seems very active-- but they're probably not going to see this posted in a generic forum thread.

The best way to get this module updated with your contribution, seen by the maintainer, and seen by others interested in the module, is to post a patch directly in the issue queue for the module. This way, even if the module maintainer doesn't respond right away, those that need it can still make use of it.

I have tried posting a patch. I read how to, tried, and still don't get how. It was too frustrating for me, so I gave up. I guess the best I can do is try contacting the maintainer again and see if anything goes.

I decided to beat my head against the wall a little more and ended up with something I think is done correctly. I uploaded the patch here:

http://drupal.org/node/208870

Please let me know if it works.
