I have tried to contact the module developer of record for the
Troll module http://drupal.org/project/troll but have not received
any response. I posted an issue indicating my interest in helping
or taking over here: http://drupal.org/node/238137

I've posted a half-dozen patches to fix issues in the queue and
there have been no CVS commits in more than 1 year.

If possible please consider me a candidate to take ownership...

We normally allow maintainers two weeks to repsond to direct issues such as the one you posted. Give us a prod again on this issue in a couple of weeks if your issue goes unanswered and we'll transfer then.
