I'm using CCK 5.x-1.6-1. I'm laying down a checkbox control and only seeing a checkbox.

Help text shows if I put it in.
Allowed values show if I switch to radio buttons.

any tips?

I got it. I used the Multiple values option and radio/checkboxes option.

I had it misconfigured.

...where do you change the configuration?

I re-created the option with another choice... In content types -> manage fields.
