Just a quick observation that I would like you share with other Drupal users that are looking for a Hosting Company to us for there Drupal Hosting.

Drupal advertise Siteground as there choice of hosting provider on this very web site, but having used that now for only a couple of weeks I'm getting very up-happy considering that you have to pay for a years subscription to there service.

Today's another example of there service, I am unable to get access to there own web site (www.siteground.com). But cannot get to my own web sites, when I try to point my browser to them I'm getting unable to find server.

Surley if Drupal are putting there names to a service that they should make sure that they provide all the functionality and up-time to customers, besides having the limitations of not being able to SSH into there hosting (which most unix experts like myself, who prefer to edit/manage there sites).

If anyone else is with Siteground, and having similar problems like myself. We should hound Siteground and Drupal to give us a better service.

A very unhappy customer.

Actually I'm a Siteground customer as well and I'm frustrated too - I'm trying to access my client sites via Siteground today and getting server time out errors. Anyone else experiencing this? Seems like their entire system/servers are down. Not good.

I'm also not totally satisfied with Siteground. I use Hostmonster.com to host other client Drupal sites and they seem to have better customer support and overall technical abilities server-wise. I also have not experienced server outages with Hostmonster. I think WE as the Drupal community need to put some pressure on Siteground to perform better.

Well according to the Siteground web site - there's a problem with the routers (what no back up routers?).

I'm only been on Siteground since the 13th of March, and so far I've had problems accessing my hosting, been blocked by there servers and now they have a network problem.

Oh why oh why did I bother going with them, Drupal should have a page dedicated to a top 10 best web hosting services - that offer 24/7 support and better uptime, access to there servers.

Where are you seeing the problem with routers on their site? I don't see any postings/alerts on their main Web site?

You need to actually be logged in, and them go to the service status (within in My Account).

I'd give you the URL, but I have logged out of Siteground after spending the last 40 mintues waiting to get at the status page.

I see it now once I'm logged into my account. Yes, major problems!! I hope they can restore us quickly.

You might want to check out this thread.

Looks like Siteground might be back up. I can get to my sites now at 4:12 p.m. EST.

Yeah I have seen that thread now, very very interesting - consider Drupal advertise Siteground quite a lot of this web site.

I wish i'd gone with my gut feeling of going back to Dreamhost (better package, SSH access and better support and speeds), oh well we learn from our mistakes.

I believe there are several postings from Siteground employees advertising their services (including this one in the handbook: http://drupal.org/node/212455) and helping their SEO campaign for Drupal hosting, but I'm not sure I've seen any instances where the Drupal community decided to advertise Siteground.

Just pointing that out :)

Dave.

Siteground did run an advertising banner on the hosting forum for a number of months. It's since been discontinued.

There are no longer any humans to speak to at Siteground, they will not accept support calls and you can only submit a small handful of ticket types. Anything other than that and you are S.O.L. The support staff is comprised of trained monkeys as far as I can tell. Tickets submitted via the limited web forms are answered in one line sentences, with no fix and then closed. Worst hosting experience EVER, hands down.

Siteground is a pretty good hosting marketer, it has gained very high PR, and ranked with high in the Google with the key word, such as drupal hosting, web hosting, etc.
