Kind of confused with what is going on. I would like to post 3 different sections of my blog..
Example:

1) dog
2) car
3) work

They all display on the content section of my page. When I create a post for.. example.. my dog.. I go to create content, click on DOG instead of story/page links and type.. but there is also a field that says "includes"..

What is actually putting my post into the DOG page if I choose to just read DOG blog entries?

Try creating some categories instead.

Hmmm, I think you are using taxonomy. Because it is still a blog, just a different category of blog.
Other content types are for content that may be totally different than a blog, like an apartment listing or an event.

Does that help?
