rjl commentedSounds to me like the "Display post information" option is set to True for webform nodes/content.
Go to your theme administration - global settings page "admin/build/themes/settings" uncheck webform and the author/date information won't be displayed for webform nodes/content pages.

allisonc commentedI tried the above but it didn't really do what I wanted...
I don't want it to display "Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 09/22/2009 - 10:48 " if the user hasn't submitted the form, however I do want to show when that user HAS submitted the form.
The above removed it completely.

quicksketchallisonc, I'm not sure your question is related to this issue. This is about the submitted line on the Webform *node* itself, and it has nothing to do with a user making a Webform *submission*. There's no (direct) way to make the node submitted line show based on if the user has completed a submission or not. It can be done with custom theming, but such support is not provided in the Webform issue queue.

pankaj01 commentedIt worked for me too.
While I could find posts on how to use webforms and build a form, I had difficulty theming it. All the form fields lined up one below the other. Yes there is a Readme. but no clear example. Here is how I did
1) Copied webform-form.tpl.php from the webform module folder to my theme folder.
2) Changed the name of the webform-form.tpl.php to match my node id webform-form-3.tpl.php. Thats the node id in my case.
3) Then I changed the code as below.
From the line no 21 (version: webform-form.tpl.php,v 1.1.2.4 2009/01/11 , see your version in line no 2)
I commented the following code
And then added the following code:
Where first_name, last_name and company are the field names in for the fields I created.
Now you can put them in any tabular format as you want to theme

slash75 commentedI can't find this setting. I went into Administer » Site building » Themes.
Display post information is not there ...

slash75 commentedNevermind - I wasn't on the Global Settings tab!

Anonymous (not verified) commentedHow would I disable the "Submitted by admin on date" for drupal 7 web form? I looked in global settings for an option but didn't see anything.
quicksketchUnder Structure -> Content Types -> Webform, there is a vertical tab for Display Settings. Uncheck the box for "Display author and date information."
