Drupal 5 is great. What good is Drupal 6 without the appropriate supporting modules. I say it has almost 0 value.

So what do you suggest to improve the situation?

They catch up in due time. Usually when a project of their own, or a clients require drupal 6 or of course when capable users provide patches for these modules to help out a developer.

Core moves forward, core does not depend on contrib modules nor need to wait for the contrib modules to be updated to be released. Feel free to read the philosophy here: http://drupal.org/node/65922

While you are obviously dependant on contrib modules, not everyone who uses drupal is. Beyond that , how can modules be ported to the next version of Drupal if noone knew what it was. : /

I watch the modules by date page, and I see a new bunch of 6.x modules released every day. If you need something specifc, then submit a patch or offer a bounty.

It has more value than yet another bitch post about the lag time between core and contrib.

Hmmm, i suppose that security might be a good one. Tho i find that there are quite a few mods that support 6 already.

Nice. Thanks. The Singularity may be near but I hope to god I am not around to see it.
