Comments per user limit

I praparing site for only registered users and of course these users can comments node items but...
For some reasons I need to set that registered users can comment node items but only once. I mean: one user's comment per one node item. So max comments on one node item will number of registered users (in case when all registered users wants to comment some node item).
Is it possible at all?

Dunno, but there is a Quota module, never used it myself so I don't know its limitations. Possibly that'll help, if not at least it's a good place to start - you could post a feature request to the issue queue perhaps?

The Simple Review module limits comments (reviews) to one per user per node. You might wanna check it out.
