Hello,
Faceted_search is great when it drills down through the taxonomy. A the moment I see this happening in the guided search block, but would like it in a page.

I have a taxonomy with countries and continents as parents. I would like to click on a continent and see a listing, not of all the nodes in that continent, but of all the countries.
Example is here:

I could do it with some ugly hacking, but I wonder first, if there is a more elegant way. I reckoned Faceted search is the best tool for this because it filters out all the countries with no nodes.

@ matslats: Good point. I agree.

Would it be kosher to ask for a checkbox within the "Faceted search environment" settings page next to each vocabulary for "Expand Hierarchy" or "Show Children" or something like that. For super complex vocabularies it might also be cool to be able to set the depth to which the children are shown. I only have two levels of hierarchy in my vocab, but for a vocabulary with, say, 5 levels, that would get hairy in a Guided Search block if all the children are shown. So to be able to set the depth to 2 and have only the first 2 levels of the hierarchy shown would be super cool.

I think something close to the initial request could be achieved by creating a page providing links to the appropriate facets' full pages (i.e. those pages have paths like myenvironment/facet/taxonomy:9999/count and are usually accessed through the "more" link in the Guided search).

gregrenner's request seems somewhat related to various points being discussed in #173524: Select multiple terms per facet.

I'm closing the issue since I'm arriving a bit late though. :-)
