Non-site admin managing pay-per-node

I have installed and configured the pay-per-node module (5.x.1.x-dev). However, we would like for a role, ContentAdmin, to be able to view, edit, and update the users pay-per-node balance, at /user/user#/paypernode
A ContentAdmin can browse to this page, but the readings in the columns- purchased, created; are not correct. It shows zero for each. Even after entering a new value and updating, it refreshes to zero. It does indeed update the values ( I can check it as a different, full admin user). But on the "paypernode balance" page, it is still not reflected.
Also the last updated column is not updated.
I should emphasize again- it really is updating the users pay-pernod balance; it just isn't showing up correctly.
