You're lucky I found this since you marked it "won't fix."

I have no idea why you would see any difference in the HTML from browser to browser. The module does nothing different.

I would suggest, however, that you try to upgrade to the latest version and see if this is still happening.

I have both the FF and IE releases and I am not seeing any difference. Is there any chance that you have some other module that could be interfering?
