An issue I have with the usability of webfm is when a document is uploaded on the node edit page it is not autommatically added to the node, I have to perform another step of dragging it to the node. This should ideally be an automatic process, 99% of the time when uploading a file to a node page people are uploading it to that page

A good suggestion. If an uploaded file isn't meant to be attached then the user can simply detach it after upload.

Exactly, this eliminates the "why did my uploaded attachment dissappear" issue.

I've modified the version to indicate where the fix applies.
