We recently relaunched industry association web site EMVA.org using Drupal. This was a move from a rather old version of Mambo which did a nice job for the beginning of the association's existence, but as the association crew larger and larger and more and more user-generated content by members flooded on the site, a much more flexible and much easier to user web site application was needed.

The design very strongly mimics the old site, only it got wider. For our personal taste, the web site has far too many first level navigation items, however the client decidedly asked for this to represent its vastness of topics covered.

The site uses magnificent Panels 2 quite extensively so our main tribute goes to the Panels 2 developers - thank you very much!

Other modules used:

Content Access
Archiver
Advanced Profile
Node Profile
CCK / Content Template
Views
Panels 2
Date
Event
Image
ImageCache
Imagefield
Location
Glossary
Faq / Faq_Ask
PrivateMsg
User Relationships
Voting API
Content Recommendation Engine
Devel
Openads Adserver Integration

The new site was very quickly accepted by its users and it already proved to be a great help for the association's site administrators so far.

Comments are always welcome.
