Hello,

I am highly curious about Throttle. I understand BASICALLY what it does, but very little of the exactitudes. For instance, suppose you have Blog throttled... under a load, does it completely remove all Blog postings, or does it just prevent certain aspects of Blog functionality? What about Forum... would it simply prevent new forum postings, or would it completely remove ALL previous forum activity as well? Book?

On Menu, would it remove your custom menus from view, or just prevent new menus from being created during the rush? I suppose you get the idea by now, but I think there is a need for documentation on this, at least regarding core modules and exactly how one would expect for them to behave while throttled. Any insight would be very much appreciated!

Tried an experiment... I set Blog to throttle on *anonymous* users at 1 user, then refreshed a few times. I was *logged in* as administrator and the Blog link from my menu disappeared, but was still visible if I *logged OUT!* Then I went back in and turned throttling OFF for blog altogether, and it still wouldn't return until I clicked the blog link in the administrator/menu settings!

But I´m guessing, based on the comment I found bellow, that it makes drupal shut down some modules when there is risk of some kind of overload. Can anyone confirm this, its funny but I havent found a decent answear, except the one bellow, that was not actually aimed to explain what it is, only how to use it.

You should throttle whatever

You should throttle whatever functionality you think your site could do without in case of heavy load. So, there is no clear-and-cut answer to your question. It depends on the type of website, preferences, etc.
