Hi everyone.

Has anyone had hands on search files module 6.x-1.2 .Whichhelps you search the content of the files uploaded on server.

I did the following steps systematically.

->Install the module from administer->modules->search_files.
-> Make sure cron is running successfully if not you can run it manully by administor settings.
-> Add helpers to your OS, I tried it for Linux so installed all the helpers. PDFtotext, cat, catppt, etc
-> Go to administer->seach settings set the path of all the helpers
-> finally set the path of the server directory where all files are uploaded.

In case of a local system it will be in sites->default->files.

But it didnt worked.

Could some one point out the blunder i am commiting if i did so ?

This module doesn't work.

I followed the instructions as well and double checked all my permissions to ensure that apache had access to the pdftotext application and the files to be read, but it doesn't matter what I do it won't search these files.

I see that the module has been updated as of January 2009. This specific page is popular on Google for drupal search_files. Has anyone gotten this to work successfully?
