Video play link not working

Hello All ,
I have installed video module.

When I am uploading videos ,they are getting uploaded.
When I click on download link ,It gets opened in media player. But when I click on play link ,I am getting this error -->
"Video type not supported".
I am uploading ".avi" files.
why I am getting this error,I don't know.
Can anyone help me?
