Stumbled across a tracking.module that I thought I would flag on here. I have been looking for a solution for ages that allows me to filter which node types are listed in the RECENT POSTS link...especially the RECENT FORUM TOPICS link in a forum - which by default just goes to the tracker.module that links everything (images, nodes, articles etc.).

Download the tracking.module (4.5 & 4.6.) at this gem of a site.

Not only does it have a slick settings page where you can specify which content types are referenced by the tracking.module - you also have the following out-of-the-box links.

  • new comments
  • unread articles
  • unread content
  • all comments
  • recent posts
  • popular discussions
  • missed discussions

They have quite a few interesting modules. Thanks for sharing this discovery. I had not known about "The World."

I think when he originally announced these in the forum, there was an attempt to get him to include them in cvs. Even if he wasn't going to maintain them, then others would have a nice starting place.

Things posted in the forums tend to get 'lost' after a while. :(

Sepeck is right. Many people requested him to get a cvs account. Who know, he has probably applied for one already.

Greetings,

First things first: thanks 'kpschoedel' for your tracking.module which allowed me to avoid the 4.5 tracker.module which somehow did not work well. And the 'not read' option is really nice for users.

Why the tip :
On my web sites, I prefer that tracker links only show the new nodes, instead of also showing updated nodes. I also wanted the date or time to be based on the day of posting, rather than the time since it was updated.

How : If you also prefer this, the solution is extremely simple...
In the tracker.module and/or tracking.module, justs replace the word 'changed' with the word 'created' in the entire code of the module.
