How do you do the trick with the path

How come your example .swf file doesn't require a localized path?

When I generate my .swf from flash it doesn't seem to work without the localized path to the xml file info in the 'component inspector' setting 'XML file path'. Is it just a problem with my action script implementation, or are you doing something fancy?

Also in your example image your flash editor shows three layers, is your action script in the same layer as the ssp object, does it matter? Sorry my flash experience is very limited.
