Hi.
I installed Drupal 5.7 yesterday and have been reading through Drupal.org and drupaltutorials.com and, to clear my head, I thought I would ask what could be the most retarded question to date:
My website, say, www.mywebsite.com is where I log in to my Drupal site. I uploaded a theme to /sites/all/themes to test here and there and successfully changed it. But my question is, when I change the theme, my site and the administration section/management site changes as well, together, so how do I have a site which remains as the standard management/log in site whilst my site itself, changes accordingly?
For instance, if the equivalent to my management site is Dreamweaver and I upload my site to mywebsite.com they are both separate, one the editor and one the canvas, if you will, whereas it seems with Drupal, for the moment, that they are one and the same depending on privileges enabled.
Thanks for reading. Perhaps I've been looking at it all wrong, or my IQ is 60 and I'm as smart as a gnat. (I don't even know what a gnat is!)
Cheers :D

Drupal enables to choose a theme for the admin different than from the front office.
Go to Home › Administer › Site configuration > Administration theme and select the garland theme for example.
I just wanted to say that your reaction is normal, this is surprising at first. But then you see that Drupal is really flexible and that you can theme your admin as you like. This is really powerfull compared to other CMS that have a fixed admin style. On the other side it could lead to usability issue...

Excellent. Thanks Alex!
Yeah, I heard it has a steep learning curve for some (especially having a rudimentary knowledge of website development like me) and so I kind of expect and have accepted the fact that I've got a lot of learning and reading to do. I just hope I stick with it and get better :D
Thanks again.
