Enhanced support for Audio/Video media? There is existing code...

This thought occured to me while I went wading through all the cool toys in CVS. The Drupal handbook suggests working together to avoid duplicating efforts. As I recall from the mp3 flexinode content type's README.txt, it can't handle anything but MP3s. The Media module in CVS [http://drupal.org/node/19304] supports audio and video. Perhaps its author (robertDouglass) might be interested in contributing to an improved flexinode media content type?
